Thank you for coming to attend this press conference @ such unusual hour. In our recent Chinese New Year – Chinese Community Dinner meeting, we all thank God that there is no serious natural disaster or tragedy happening in Australia so the ACCF can enjoy a more relaxed and happy dinner with all community leaders and friends from the government and oppositions. Nevertheless we still allocated $10,000, to support two charities - $5,000 each 1. Special Children Services Centre 2. Chinese Parents Association – Children with Disabilities. When we have learned about the “poison mushroom” case, the management agreed to allocate another $10,000 to help the victims’ family. Also would like to take this opportunity to bring it to the public the awareness of poisonous wild produce. Australia is such a rich country that vegetation grows wild in one’s big yard. Many of the vegetables and herbs may look like the those, ones parents or grandparents used to give them to us because they are very nourishing and good for our health. But we do not have the experience or knowledge in identifying the good ones from the poisonous ones ourselves. The Poisonous mushroom in Canberra is one of the example for us to remember. Recently, in New Zealand, someone was killed by eating wild vegetable harvested from their backyard. Similarly, we should exercise extra care in looking ourselves when go fishing, especially rock fishing etc. Bank Name: ANZ Banking Group Limited Branch: Burwood AC.
